Dad50 #37 DIY Birthday Cards/Invites

The older I get, the better the birthday invites become! This was last years effort, but this year he will be my first teenager. The pressure's mounting......
If you have any familiarity with Powerpoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, or any other drawing program, it's pretty simple to make your own cards/invites. The example above was generated from a included background, a text box and a picture from a airsoft gun catalog. Give your kids the chance to input their ideas/wishes for the card, but don't appoint them "project supervisor" if they are the fastidious type! Not if you want to knock it off quickly. Kids love DIY cards because they get a say in designing them, and they get serious birthday-street-cred with their friends!
Print them on photo paper, or heavy duty card paper for durability and "store quality" look.
